Define your containment plan.
Give the issue a review space, a return time, and an appropriate communication route. Identify what would require an earlier response.
Containment is not avoidance, secrecy, or suppressing feelings. It is a practical agreement about when and how to attend to a nonurgent issue while keeping necessary responsibilities in view.
A boundary needs an exception for real urgency.

Days 1–30: one workable pause.
Use the first planning window to understand the pattern and test one response. Choose one situation, one pause phrase, and one return time.
Review with your coach at the cadence you actually agreed. If the plan is too large or does not fit the circumstances, make it smaller rather than treating difficulty as a lack of commitment.
Start with a practice that survives an ordinary week.
